2019 Kia Soul
Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can choose from three straightforward trims when you buy a 2019 Soul. First comes the Base model, and with this trim, you get a very low price, automatic headlights, a six-way adjustable driver's seat, a 5-inch touch screen, and basic air conditioning. Next comes the Soul Plus, and this model adds useful features like fog lights and heated side mirrors. You can also add a lot of optional equipment thanks to all the available packages. Finally, the Exclaim rounds out the list by offering Plus options as standard equipment. These include fabric-leather combination seat upholstery, a smart key system, and a leather steering wheel.
Engine (Power)
All three trims of the 2019 Kia Soul have their own engine. A basic Soul comes with a basic 1.6-liter I-4 that delivers 130 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque, and it can use either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. On a Plus, the engine becomes a 2.0-liter I-4 with 161 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque, and the automatic transmission is standard. For the Exclaim, you get a 1.6-liter I-4 with turbo which offers 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. You also get a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that delivers faster gear changes.
Performance
Since all three trims of the 2019 Soul have their own engine, the performance you get depends on which model you buy. Still, there's more to the Soul than the engine. All three trims come with FlexSteer, a system that allows you to adjust the steering sensitivity so you can decide how much feedback you want to get. They also come with Drive Mode Select, and this feature can adjust the transmission, engine torque, and air conditioning to make your drive either more efficient or more exciting.
Interior
The squared-off rear of the 2019 Kia Soul means the interior has plenty of space to spare. Not only do both rows get plenty of headroom and at least 39.1 inches of legroom, you can also pack 24.2 cubic feet of cargo into the back. That number jumps up to 61.3 cubic feet once you fold down the 60/40 split back row. The Kia Soul's interior also provides available features like a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a Harman Kardon audio system, and a UVO entertainment system with navigation and an 8-inch touch screen.
Safety Features
Standard safety features on a 2019 Soul include vehicle stability management, disc brakes on every wheel, electronic stability control, air bags, and a tire pressure monitoring system. If you get the right trim, you can also expect driver assistance systems like a lane departure warning, a forward collision warning system, and autonomous emergency braking.
