Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can get a 2019 Sportage in one of three trim levels. The first is the LX, and this trim combines a low price with features like power-adjustable side mirrors, 17-inch wheels, and automatic headlights. The second trim is the EX, and it adds a windshield de-icer, fog lights, and heated side mirrors that fold themselves automatically and have built-in turn indicators. Finally, you can get the SX Turbo, a trim that provides HID headlights with dynamic bending light, 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, and a panoramic sunroof.
Engine (Power)
The LX and EX trims of the 2019 Kia Sportage uses= a 2.4-liter I-4 engine that pumps out up to 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, and with it, the Sportage offers 30 highway and 23 city mpg. All-wheel drive is available on all trims, but it makes the mileage numbers go down. The SX Turbo upgrades the engine to a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4, and it offers 240 horsepower with 260 pound-feet of torque. The engine takes up less space than the standard option, but thanks to the turbo power, its mileage numbers are 26 mpg on the highway and 21 mpg in the city.
Performance
You'll get more than enough power in a 2019 Sportage no matter which engine you choose, and you'll have no trouble getting across town or merging onto the highway. Still, the turbo engine is definitely the more exciting option. Either way, you can pick up the Dynamax all-wheel-drive system to get better traction on rough and slippery terrain, and you can enjoy a comfortable suspension that absorbs most of the bumps in the road.
Interior
The 2019 Kia Sportage is a two-row SUV, and it has plenty of space for both cargo and passengers. The cargo area has 30.7 cubic feet to spare, and you can get up to 60.1 cubic feet by folding down the back row. You can also get plenty of interior luxuries with the right trim and packages. Your options include a 10-way adjustable driver's seat, heat and ventilation for the front row, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and leather seats. As for the infotainment system, that can come with navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and HD Radio.
Safety Features
The 2019 Sportage has you covered thanks to safety features like vehicle stability management, six air bags, and electronic stability control. With the right trim, you can also get some advanced driver assistance features like a parking assist with rear and front sensors, autonomous emergency braking, a lane departure warning system, blind spot detection, and a rear cross-traffic alert.
